Halle E+G are situated between Burggasse, Mariahilferstrasse and Museumsplatz.
Motor vehicle access to the site is exclusively permitted for delivery purposes and for a period not exceeding 30 minutes.
LORRY ACCESS
Lorries may enter for delivery purposes via Courtyard 7 (corner Burggasse/Museumsplatz).
As a green location, we invite you to join us in setting an example. Come to Halle E+G in an environmentally conscious manner by public transport, bicycle or on foot. Every step counts – thank you for participating!

The perfect service for every event
The Halle E+G team looks forward to supporting you in the planning and realisation of your events & productions and is always happy to provide you with advice and assistance before, during and after the event.
These facilities are available to you, your team and your visitors in Halle E+G:
- 9 Artists' dressing rooms, showers & WC facilities
- Production office with 📞 and WLAN
- Audience checkroom for up to 2,000 people
- Audience WC
- Porter's lodge
Barrier-free facilities: Lift to the checkroom, WC for the disabled, Level access to Halle E, Lift to Halle G, Inductive hearing system, Parking spaces in the MQ underground parking garage.
The tenant is responsible for registering public events with the relevant authorities. If the planned setup or format of the event is not covered by the existing permits for the EG Hall, we will be happy to assist you in obtaining the necessary approvals.
As a general rule, no official approval is required for private events.

Accessibility Statement
The accessibility of our event spaces is a top priority for us. We are constantly striving to reduce existing barriers and continuously improve accessibility for all visitors and users of our facilities. In doing so, transparency and an open approach to existing limitations are particularly important to us. For this reason, we would like to list below those areas that are not yet fully accessible.
1. Office spaces
In general, the office spaces on the first floor of the Oval Wing are currently not accessible to people with disabilities or mobility impairments without assistance. Alternatively, access to the Kunsthalle Wien’s office spaces is available via elevator.
2. Accessible Building Entrances
The main entrance doors do not currently open automatically. A new, accessible entrance portal is planned, featuring:
- automatic door opening via sensor or manually via a button,
- markings on the glass doors,
- color-contrasting and tactile floor guides.
The existing intercom system does not currently comply with the two-sense principle. Desirable features would include, among others:
- a more accessible location,
- controls with contrasting markings and tactile lettering,
- audible and visual signals,
- an inductive loop system to assist people with hearing impairments.
3. Wayfinding within the building
Currently, there are no tactile or acoustic guidance systems for blind and visually impaired individuals.
4. Vertical barriers in the building
- Entrance and exit steps do not have sufficient contrast in all areas and are therefore sometimes difficult to see.
- The grandstand stairs pose a particular challenge for people with walking, standing, or sensory impairments.
5. Accessible restroom facilities
The accessible restroom facilities currently lack emergency pull cords.
6. Website accessibility
Non-accessible content on our homepage:
- Alternative text: Some images and graphic elements do not contain sufficient alternative text for screen readers.
- Keyboard navigation: Some navigation elements are not fully accessible via keyboard.
- Contrast ratios: For certain text-background combinations, the recommended contrast ratio of 4.5:1 is not met.
- Forms: Input fields are not fully labeled.
- Documents: Some PDF files are not formatted to be accessible.
7. Note on the Stage and Tenant Situation
We are not directly responsible for the accessibility of content, installations, and technical setups on stage that are provided by tenants or external event organizers. However, we see ourselves as a supportive liaison and are available to advise all tenants to facilitate and promote accessible solutions to the best of our ability within the scope of their respective events.
Even though measures have already been implemented, we view accessibility as an ongoing development process. We are continuously working to improve existing barriers and appreciate any feedback and suggestions for further optimization.
